AGTA announces 2010 board of directors

Dallas--The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) has announced the results of its 2010 AGTA board of directors elections.

Peter Bazar of Imperial-Deltah Inc., Sushil Goyal of Liberty Gems Inc. and Cynthia Renee Zava of Cynthia Renee Co. were all elected to three-year terms as directors. These terms will take effect at the 2010 AGTA Membership Meeting at GemFair Tucson.

The following AGTA officers' and directors' terms continue through the coming year:
  • Benjamin Hackman, Intercolor, president
  • Robert Bentley, Robert Bentley Co., vice president
  • Kambiz Sabouri, Gem 2000, vice president
  • Betty Sue King, King's Ransom, secretary
  • John Bachman, John M. Bachman, secretary
  • Sampat Poddar, Byrex Gems, treasurer
  • Bear Williams, Bear Essentials, director
  • Gerry Manning, Manning International, director
  • Bill Larson, Pala International, director
  • Ambrish Sethi, Manak Jewels, director
  • Ruben Bindra, B and B Fine Gems, director
  • Ron Ringsrud, Ronald Ringsrud Co., director
  • Glenn Lehrer, Lehrer Designs, director
  • Joe Orlando, Stuller, director
  • Lois Wacholtz, Christopher's Fine Jewelry Design, director
  • Barbara Lawrence, Boston Gems and Findings, past president
Past President Barbara Lawrence chaired the nominating committee. Richard Greenwood was Committee Member for the 2010 nomination slate.

The AGTA board of directors holds elections on a rotating cycle to guarantee coherence of the board's long-term plans. The AGTA Membership Meeting is open to all AGTA Members and will be held on Feb. 7, 2010, at the Tucson Convention Center.
