GIA Career Search Engine features 300-plus jobs

November 03, 2009
The Gemological Institute of America's Career Search Engine has more than 300 active gem and jewelry industry positions now available.

Carlsbad, Calif.--The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has announced that its Career Search Engine has more than 300 active gem and jewelry industry positions now available.

The search engine is free, open to anyone and is continually updated with new gem and jewelry career listings, with jobs ranging from entry-level to executive titles.

More than 7,000 industry jobs have been posted since the search engine was launched in 2000, and it is the largest, free, online employment database in the jewelry industry, GIA Career Services Advisor Anna Hayman said in a media release.

Available careers include jewelry buyers, appraisers, business development associates, vice presidents, marketing creative directors and more. Positions span the world, from the United States, Canada, France and India to Japan, the Cayman Islands and Saudi Arabia. Among the employers who have listed positions on the GIA Career Search Engine are Blue Nile, Damiani, Stuller, and Tiffany and Co.

According to Kathryn Kimmel, GIA vice president and chief marketing officer, the search engine is a strong complement to the institute's Jewelry Career Fair.

"We had a phenomenal showing of 30 companies who recruited at Career Fair, offering a wide array of career opportunities," Kimmel said. "For the job seekers who were unable to attend Career Fair, some of those positions offered at the event and more are available for application on the Career Search Engine."

Job seekers can access the GIA Career Search Engine by clicking here, and employers can post jobs here.
