Las Vegas--The Indian Diamond and Colorstone Association (IDCA) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala held during the recent jewelry shows in Las Vegas.

In an evening headlined by keynote speakers Michael O'Hara and Chris Ellis, of Consensus Advisors LLC, the IDCA honored Peter Engel, president and chief executive officer of Fred Meyer Jewelers with its "Retailer of the Year" award.

The organization's "Pioneer Award" went to Navrattan Kothari, chairman of the KGK Group.

The organization honored brothers Vasant and Chandrakant Sanghavi of Sanghavi Exports Intl. Pvt. Ltd. with its "Lifetime Achievement Award."

This award was especially poignant, as the IDCA honored Vasant Sanghavi, who died shortly before the show, posthumously.

In addition, the IDCA gave special recognition to Biju Patnaik, the senior vice president and regional head of the Asia International Diamond and Jewelry Group for industry financier ABN-Amro Bank.

According to a post-show release, a number of prominent jewelry industry officials attended the event, and IDCA President Haridas Kotahwala said in the release that he was "proud and honored at the milestones achieved by the IDCA collectively and its members individually."

Headquartered in New York, the IDCA is a not-for-profit organization with 65 member companies. The sole purpose of the organization is to provide information to Indian gem, diamond and jewelry companies to further their business interests in the United States.
