AGTA launches online directory

Dallas—The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) has launched an online sourcing guide for the gemstone and jewelry industry, the organization announced this week.

According to a release from the AGTA, the Gem Industry Guide will provide AGTA members and other industry professionals with an online search tool that will give them quick access to an extensive directory of industry-specific products and services.

The directory, developed in conjunction with MultiView Inc., a supplier of online directories for national associations, will be accessible through a link located on the AGTA's Web site, AGTA.org.

"We are always looking for opportunities to offer more exposure for the association and its members," AGTA Chief Executive Officer Doug Hucker said in the release. "This guide is a proven solution for Web-savvy companies looking for gemstone- and jewelry-related products."

Within the guide, users will be able to browse the site using keywords or by conducting a category-specific search.

The guide also will include a "request for information" function, where users will be able to contact participating suppliers.

In addition, a downloadable desktop search engine is available, allowing industry professionals to search for items from a small window on their desktops.
