Mikimoto, Gourmet draw pearly whites aplenty

Guests at the packed event checked out the alluring pearl jewelry designs that have brought Mikimoto worldwide recognition.

New York--Mikimoto recently hosted the Gourmet magazine crowd for the launch of Editor-In-Chief Ruth Reichl's latest book, Not Becoming My Mother, recounting the lessons in independence and self-acceptance that Reichl's mother succeeding in teach her.

The fete took place at Mikimoto's Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City, with celebrity chefs such as Marcus Samuelsson, Rebecca Charles and Cesare Casella in attendance.

In true Gourmet style, guests enjoyed libations from Nicholson Ranch, Viansa Winery and Henriot, plus hors d'oeuvres from Pearl Oyster Bar.
