New G.L.D.A. showroom to attract top exhibitors, prices

Tucson, Ariz.—The 30th annual G.L.D.A. Inc. Tucson Gem and Jewelry Show will feature a new showroom, the "Grand Elegance Tucson Ballroom," a private ballroom for top exhibitors offering goods at competitive prices, organizers announced.

The new showroom will be located adjacent to the main show floor for convenience, and will house 60 leading gem and jewelry companies from around the world. The room is designed to mirror the Grand Elegance Showroom at G.L.D.A.'s Mirage Hotel Las Vegas summer show. It will feature 8-foot-by-10-foot hard-wall booths, with 8-foot-wide shopping aisles. It will be designed to give shoppers a more private, less-rushed buying atmosphere.

Organizers said the show, which has been held the last four years at the J.W. Marriott Starr Pass Resort and Spa, is growing at a deliberate pace to maintain quality. Over the next two years, it is expected to increase the number of exhibitors by about 40 percent, with up to 150 additional booths.

The new ballroom is meant to attract new exhibitors to the Tucson show, with the potential to bring in special foreign companies featured at the Las Vegas show.
