Oakland, Calif.—JCRS, a company that develops specialized services for jewelers, appraisers and insurers, has announced that its next Certified Insurance Appraiser training program will be held on March 12-15, 2007, in San Francisco.

Graduate Gemologists with three years of experience are invited to participate in the four-day course, which focuses on gemological needs in insurance documentation. Upon completion, gemologists will be recognized as Certified Insurance Appraisers and will have the expertise to prepare jewelry appraisals to insurance-industry standards.

David W. Hendry Jr., president of JCRS, took part in poster sessions at the GIA Symposium held at the end of August in San Diego. His presentation focused on the need for accurate and reliable documentation for insurance purposes.

"The key problem associated with jewelry insurance is that insurers have no reliable source for the quality and accuracy of the documentation used for making insurance decisions," he said in a statement.

The JCRS course provides information on how insurance companies operate, determine and limit risk, and the roles of agents, underwriters and claims adjusters. The training will also address technical issues, standards, government involvement and the insurer/appraiser relationship.

Comprehensive course information and enrollment details are available at JCRS.com.
