Mikimoto's new ad creative goes back to basics

New York--Mikimoto has announced the launch of its new advertising creative, which reveals the simplicity and beauty of pearls.

The campaign, conceived and executed by the Prosper Assouline Creative Agency, showcases a series of six pearl images set in oyster shells as the backdrop. The oyster shells were hand-sourced from pearl farms around the world, and each jewelry piece is presented in the mother oyster that produces that type of pearl.

Creative Director Prosper Assouline and New York photographer Anthony Cotsifas utilized dramatic lighting and innovative shadowing techniques to both simplify and modernize the brand's product.

"With over a century of rich tradition, Mikimoto continues to remain the most recognizable and prestigious name in cultured pearls," Mikimoto America Chief Operating Officer Meyer Hoffman said in a media release. "The new campaign captures the very essence of the Mikimoto brand."
