Yohji's pearl power

Designer Yohji Yamomoto and Japanese jewelry firm Mikimoto are embarking on a joint venture to create a new jewelry collection centered around pearls. The 20-piece collection will include necklaces, pendants, earrings, rings and bracelets, ranging in price from $2,500 to $150,000.

Although the collection debuts during Couture Week in Paris this summer, distribution to the Yohji Yamomoto and freestanding Mikimoto stores will begin in November 2007. Expansion into Europe and Asia is expected in 2008.
