ICA sets schedule for 2009 Congress

New York--The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has unveiled the schedule of events for the 2009 ICA Congress, whose theme this year is "Your Gateway to China" or, in the Chinese language, "Your Gateway to the World."

The event will be held in Panyu, China, from May 5-10, 2009. Delegates from every mining, producing and trading center in the world are expected to attend.

Registration will begin on May 5 and will continue the following day. In addition, on May 6, there will be a tennis tournament, golf tournament and, in the evening, an opening ceremony and dinner.

The ICA Gem Show will open on May 7, with Congress sessions beginning that morning. The sessions will fall under the theme "Doing Business in China." The next day, the sessions will continue, focusing on the "ICA and Global Trade."

May 9 will be an open day. In the morning, excursions will be available to the Sawan Industrial Park, and the ICA Gem Show will be open in the afternoon.

Finally, the last day of the show will feature the ICA General Assembly, a debate session on successes in China, a visit to the Guangzhou Gem and Jewelry Show and a closing gala dinner.

A detailed agenda for the Congress, along with information on registration, transportation and lodging will soon be available online at the ICA's Web site, Gemstone.org/Congress.
