Leviev tops list of Israeli diamond exporters

Ramat Gan, Israel—L.L.D. Diamonds, owned by Lev Leviev, once again tops the annual list of the leading polished-diamond exporters in Israel with $553 million in exports last year.

The list is published by the Israel Diamond Controller's Office in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor.

Following L.L.D. on the list is Leo Schachter with $460 million in polished-diamond exports, followed by Moshe Namdar and Co. with $204 million.

Rounding out the top five exporters are A. Dalumi Diamonds with $158 million and Espeka Diamonds (Israel) with $156 million.

Also in the top 10: Yerushalmi Brothers with $148 million in polished-diamond exports, Wertheimer-Fruchter Diamonds with $125 million, M.I.D. House of Diamonds with $109 million, Salant Group with $95 million and Rosy Blue Sales with $89 million.

While noting that the strength of Israel's diamond industry is based on all participants—including manufacturers, exporters and traders—Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) Chairman Moti Ganz praised the companies listed.

Newly named IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar also applauded the exporters and noted IDI's continued commitment to providing support.
