Ramat Gan, Israel—The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) will hold its annual breakfast press conference at Baselworld 2007 and present special diamond cuts and an update on the country's diamond industry.

The event will be held on April 13 at 8:45 a.m. in the Osaka-Samarkand Congress Room of the Basel Convention Center. It will include presentations from IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar on trends and triumphs in the Israeli diamond industry and a panel session on the new cuts featuring representatives from leading Israeli diamond companies Guy Hadad Diamonds, Moshe Namdar and Novel Collection.

As with past shows, the IDI will have a PR booth at the fair in Hall 3.1, Stand N01. The show will also have a strong presence of individual Israeli diamantaires, mainly in Halls 3 and 6.

"Europe is an important market for many Israeli manufacturers and exporters, and we believe that there is a great potential for future growth here. Our participation in BaselWorld underscores our keen interest in furthering our growth in these markets," IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said in a statement.

Israeli's diamond industry saw positive growth in 2006, despite challenges to the global industry, Avidar said.

"The Israeli industry is well-positioned for further growth. IDI's marketing efforts—in Basel as well as in venues around the world—are geared to support the Israeli diamond industry as it enhances its role in global markets," he said.
