DMIA holding legal program Oct. 27

New York—The Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America (DMIA) is sponsoring a seminar on memos, consignments and other industry hot topics on Oct. 27 in New York City.

The meeting, which will be held in the grand ballroom of the 3 West Club located at 3 W. 51st St. in New York City, is open to all members of the diamond and jewelry industry.

There is no fee to attend and the meeting will convene at 4 p.m.

Leading the meeting will be Brooklyn Law School Professor Neil Cohen, an expert in the areas of sales, consignments and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and Edwin Smith, a partner in a prominent international firm reputed to be one of the country's leading experts on bankruptcy, secured transactions and the UCC.

The two will be on hand to discuss and explain the ins and outs of doing business in the United States.

Antwerp Diamond Bank, ABN Amro, Bank Leumi, Chase and HSBC are sponsoring the program.
