GIA Lab to offer priority service to JA Show attendees

Carlsbad, Calif.—The Gemological Institute of America's (GIA) New York Laboratory will offer priority lab services to attendees of the upcoming JA New York Summer Show.

The services will be available before, during and after the show, which will be held from July 29-Aug. 1 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

"With this GIA priority laboratory service, JA attendees coming to New York for a few days for a great trade show can submit their items of diamonds, pearls or colored stones to GIA for laboratory servicing and then pick them up prior to leaving town," GIA Laboratory and Research Senior Vice President Tom Moses said in a statement.

The stones can be dropped off at the nearby GIA New York Lab's take-in windows and get them returned before the close of the show. For instance, a stone submitted on Thursday will be available for pick-up by Tuesday night.

Moses said there will be extended drop-off and pick-up hours at the lab on Thursday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The lab will be open its regular hours, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and then will have extended hours on Monday and Tuesday.

"We're interested in improving our service to our customers, the industry and the public," he said. "We thought this priority laboratory service would benefit many of our colleagues who are attending the JA show here in our own backyard."

The lab is located on 580 Fifth Ave., Ste. 200, New York, NY 10036. For more information, call (800) 366-8519, (212) 944-5900, e-mail labservice@gia.edu or visit GIA.edu.
