New York—Renowned jewelry designer James de Givenchy has created a 15-piece collection of one-of-a-kind and limited-edition jewels for Sotheby's Diamonds.

The James de Givenchy for Sotheby's Diamonds collection incorporates an array of diamonds in various sizes and colors. Pieces will sell for $80,000 to $2 million.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to work with Sotheby's Diamonds and to create designs with extraordinary stones that I would not normally work with," said James de Givenchy. "There is a relationship between art and jewelry, but that relationship hasn't necessarily existed between art and diamonds. I took this concept into account, treated each piece separately and really tried to make the most of each individual stone I was given. I love the challenge of working with something new, it is enriching for me, and personally each one of these pieces is a success story. I am happy with the way they have turned out."

The collection will debut in New York City on Nov. 11 and go on sale to the public from Nov. 12-17. The exhibition will then continue on in Hong Kong from Nov. 22-26, in Bangkok, Thailand, from Nov. 29-30, in Tokyo from Dec.6-7, and in Taiwan from Dec. 12-14.

De Givenchy launched his brand Taffin at a showroom on New York's Madison Avenue, following stints at Verdura and Christie's jewelry department. A French native, de Givenchy is the nephew of celebrated couturier Hubert de Givenchy.

Sotheby's Diamonds represents a retail joint venture between Sotheby's auction house and the Steinmetz Diamond Group, offering rare and large diamonds to international clients.
