Antwerp, Belgium—Diamond-industry leaders will gather in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, next week as the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) celebrates its 60th anniversary at its 2007 Presidents' Meeting.

The event, "Celebrating the WFDB's Diamond Anniversary: Building on a Tradition," is being hosted by the Vereniging Beurs voor den Diamanthandel, the Amsterdam Diamond Exchange, and will take place from June 24-26 at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel.

Presidents' Meetings take place in the years between congresses of the WFDB and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA), which are held biennially. During the two-day event, the presidents of the 26 diamond bourses affiliated with the WFDB meet to discuss issues impacting the industry and to prepare the agenda for the congress the following year.

Among the speakers at this year's meeting are Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen, Vereniging Beurs voor den Diamanthandel president and host of the 2007 meeting Ed Blik, Diamond Trading Co. Managing Director Varda Shine, WFDB President Ernest Blom, IDMA President Jeffrey Fischer, CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri and the global head of the International Diamond and Jewelry Group at ABN AMRO bank Loet Kniphorst.
