Las Vegas—The American Gem Society (AGS) Laboratories has announced the launch of its new Web site, which features resources such as online registration, cut-grade information and report verification.

The site, AGSLab.com, provides information for both jewelry manufacturers and retail jewelers.

In addition to the new design, the site features easy-to-use navigation.

Visitors can sign up to become a client, find answers to frequently asked questions, download cutting chart guidelines, find samples of AGS Laboratories grading reports and match the information on an individual diamond-grading report to the AGS Laboratories database.

"AGSLab.com is the ultimate resource for members of the jewelry trade," AGS Laboratories President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Dallahan said in a media release. "We've provided the trade with the information they need to get their diamonds graded quickly and efficiently. We're very excited about our new look and layout, and the site will continue to evolve as we add interactive tutorials and in-depth diamond education tools."

In early 2008, AGS Laboratories began initiatives to increase search engine exposure from sites such as Google and Yahoo. The program resulted in a 61 percent increase in unique site visits, the lab said in the release.

"Our goal is to become known in both the trade and to consumers as the ultimate resource for the information they need on diamonds and diamond grading," Dallahan said.
