Leviev appoints U.S. sales director

New York—Leviev has named Patrick Toth to the position of U.S. sales director. He and the company's sales team will be based out of the Manhattan-based Leviev store on Madison Avenue, which is now expected to open this summer.

The store, which had been expected to open by the end of 2006, will be the first U.S.-based boutique for diamond tycoon Lev Leviev's brand. A London store opened last spring.

Toth will be charged with helping to build the brand in the United States. He will report to Thierry Chaunu, president and chief operating officer of Leviev.

"I am thrilled that Patrick is joining the Leviev team," Chaunu said in a statement. "Patrick is passionate about diamonds, very knowledgeable and will be comfortable presenting our extraordinary diamonds to the elite."

Toth joins the company after eight years with Mikimoto and, more recently, a two-year stint at Chopard. Overall, he's been in the industry for 19 years and is considered a leader in terms of sales and brand-building.
