GemEx offering diamond-beauty evaluations in NYC

October 05, 2009

New York--GemEx Systems Inc. recently announced that, in conjunction with DMB Partnership, it is now are offering diamond-beauty evaluations at a New York City Diamond District location.

According to a news release, the evaluations, which measure light at five direct angles to evaluate brilliance for GemEx's trademarked Light Performance Certificate, will be conducted using the company's BrillianceScope Analyzer.

According to the release, the location will make it easier for local manufacturers and retailers to evaluate their diamonds for GemEx certification.

"This new diamond-scanning service in New York City provides an opportunity for a wider range of jewelry manufacturers and retailers to assess their stones using the proven GemEx technology," Randy Wagner, chief executive officer of GemEx, said in the release. "Now jewelers in one of the most important diamond districts in the country will be able to process a Light Performance Certificate for their diamonds regardless of the number of diamonds they are certifying. Improving access to these important marketing tools will help dealers and retailers increase diamond sales and margins."

A formal announcement about the new evaluation service is slated for the Diamond Manufacturers and Importers Association of America's (DMIA) monthly New York chapter meeting, scheduled for Oct. 14, the release states.

DMIA members will received a discounted rate for diamond-beauty evaluation services.

"For its nearly 80-year history, the DMIA has been dedicated to advancing and ensuring consumer confidence in diamonds and diamond jewelry," Wagner said in the release. "We hope that by offering our beauty-evaluation services to more people in New York, together we can further their cause."
