Heritage Auction nets over $2 million

Dallas—Heritage Auction Galleries' Dec. 3 sale of fine jewelry and timepieces realized about $2.1 million for 625 lots offered.

The sale, held in Dallas, included noted designers such as Audemars Piguet, Gregg Ruth, Leverington and Oscar Heyman.

Highlights of the auction included two platinum and diamond rings, which sold for $161,325 and $71,700, respectively, and a platinum and diamond necklace by Oscar Heyman, which sold for $70,983.

"This was a very strong event, nearly doubling the results of our last auction, which we held in May 2007," Heritage Director of Jewelry Auctions Jill Burgum said in a media release. "Participation in this auction—live on the floor, on the phone and on the Internet, especially through our Heritage Live venue—was extremely strong, with spirited bidding resulting in some very solid pieces."

Heritage is now gearing up for its Spring 2008 auction, posting lots on its Web site, HA.com. Enlargeable full-color images of each lot, complete with thorough and informative catalogs, will be displayed as they are added. As the auction draws nearer, bids can be placed online.
