Fall fashion has arrived, and this year, that means a slimmed-down silhouette, dark colors, heavier fabrics and weighty, dramatic jewelry to accent it all.

In apparel, the ubiquitous dress continues its reign, but this season's frocks have a tighter fit and a primmer feel. As clothing gets heavier, jewelry will get weightier as well. Thick, luxe fabrics like velvet and brocade will re-emerge this autumn, providing the perfect palette for heavy gold chains and medallions. Small, personalized pendants continue to hold sway, though now they serve as accents to bolder pieces.
