Judith Ripka crafts silver pendant for Autism Speaks

Judith Ripka has created this sterling silver pendant to benefit Autism Speaks.

New York--To raise awareness for National Autism Awareness Month, which begins tomorrow, jewelry designer Judith Ripka has created a puzzle-shaped pendant that will benefit advocacy organization Autism Speaks.

The "Autism Speaks Puzzle Pendant" is crafted in sterling silver and takes the shape of the Autism Speaks puzzle piece logo. It falls from a blue silk cord and is not only chic but helpful: 50 percent of the proceeds from sales of the pendant will go to Autism Speaks.

This isn't the first time Judith Ripka has created a jewelry design for the organization. A bracelet version featuring a puzzle charm made its debut in 2007.

The pendant retails for $229 and can be purchased through the "Estore" on Autism Speaks' Web site, AutismSpeaks.org.

Since its founding in 2005, Autism Speaks has committed $128 million in new research funding through 2014 to uncover the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism.
