Fifth generation takes reigns at B.A. Ballou

W.R. Cobb acquires B.A. Ballou

East Providence, R.I.—Allan "Sandy" Ballou, president of findings manufacturer B.A. Ballou and Co., is now also the chief executive officer of the East Providence, R.I.-based company.

Curt Ley, the company's former chairman and CEO, who is now filling the position of interim CEO of Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, will retain his responsibilities as B.A. Ballou's chairman of the board, but will no longer be responsible for day-to-day operations at the company.

Sandy Ballou has developed an in-depth working knowledge of B.A. Ballou over his 20-year tenure with the company. He has held the positions of factory manager, director of human resources and vice president of sales and marketing, among others.

He is the fifth generation of the Ballou family to manage the 139-year-old firm.
