Metal Arts Critique Collective celebrates 10 years

San Francisco—Members of the Metal Arts Critique Collective (M.A.C.) will display their work at an exhibit at the Velvet da Vinci Gallery in San Francisco from Sept. 12-30.

The exhibit marks the 10th anniversary of M.A.C., founded by designers Christine Dhein and Shana Astrachan after they graduated from art school.

"I am grateful for the support M.A.C. has offered me over the years, and I am thrilled to see the diversity of work created by this tight-knit group," Dhein said in a statement.

The exhibit will feature jewelry, sculpture and Judaica by the founders as well as metal artists David Casella, Reed Easley, Aimee Golant, Kelly Nedderman and Emiko Oye.

"The artists in the group know each other's work so well that they often understand the direction my work needs to go better than I do myself," Easley said in a statement. "They have an outside perspective and aren't so muddled down with the details."

The Velvet da Vinci Gallery showcases jewelry and metal sculpture by artists from Europe, Japan, Latin America and the United States.
