Providence, R.I.—Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America has announced the return of its Trade Show for Jewelry Making (TSJM), which is scheduled to take place from Oct. 10-11 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence.

Now in its second year, TSJM will provide a wider array of products and services, as well as an expanded educational program, show organizers said in a press release. TSJM debuted last year in September with more than 1,000 buyers, and MJSA is looking to build on that success.

New exhibitors range from companies specializing in environmental safety to those offering CAD/CAM services. Exhibitors include: Airsep, which specializes in oxygen and industrial gases; Hybrivet Systems, which offers lead-detection test kits; Innovative CAD Technologies, which provides CAD/CAM services for design and prototyping; and Reactive Metals Studio, which specializes in metals, including Japanese alloys and mokumé-gane.

The Gemological Institute of America, Gemvision, Gesswein, Solidscape and Stuller Inc. will also be on hand, offering an assortment of tools, equipment, supplies and technologies for jewelry-making.

Also returning this year is an expanded MJSA Jewelry Academy educational program. Product application specialists Nick Regine and Leigh Alsfeld of Swarovski North America's crystal fashion components division will lead hands-on workshops in areas such as soldering, gluing crystal stones and pearl-knotting. The workshops are slated to take place on the exhibit floor during both days of the show.

This year's seminar presenters include Liz Brehmer of Stuller Inc., who will provide advice on getting manufacturers to look at your ideas or designs; Chris Ploof of Chris Ploof Designs on pricing and lathe work; Cynthia Eid of Cynthia Eid Designs on argentium silver; Gail Levine of Auction Market Resource on the history of jewelry design; Linus Drogs of Au Enterprises on the ABCs of casting; and Jurgen J. Maerz on working with platinum.

Advance registration for the show is free, while on-site registration is $10 for non-MJSA members and free for MJSA members. To register to attend or for more information on exhibiting, visit the MJSA's Web site, MJSA.org.
