Ring box reveals electronic innovation

Torrance, Calif.—Jewelry packaging shows it can be tech-savvy with Euricase's ring box.

The box incorporates a LCD display that automatically plays a customer's personalized video, picture slideshow or audio when opened. In addition, soft perimeter lighting focuses on the ring when the box is opened.

The size of the Euricase ring box is roughly the same size as an average ring box and comes in an assortment of colored and metallic finishes. The box's interior is either fine leather or velvet, and a placeholder with the retailer's logo is available to sit in the box when the ring is removed. The 2-inch LCD includes a clock, alarm, calendar and photo-album display.

Inventor Danny Oh, the president of Euri Inc., said this will change jewelry gift-giving.

"It will not be thrown away or put in a drawer," Oh said in a press release. "The box will be shared with family and friends as an ongoing reminder of the couple's special life events."

Multimedia can be updated at any time through a USB port, and the device holds more than 500 pictures or 60 minutes of video.

Retailers can customize the box with their store colors, logo and promotional videos and advertising. The Euricase ring box retails for $198.95.
