Palladium Alliance sponsors casting research

Billings, Mont.—The Palladium Alliance International (PAI) has contracted with the Research Institute for Precious Metals and Metals Chemistry (FEM) to research best practices for palladium casting procedures.

Metallurgist Dr. Jorg Fischer-Bühner will work with PAI technical consultant Mark B. Mann and industry partners TechForm Advanced Casting Technology and Vendorafa Lombardi. Both industrial partners have conducted extensive in-house research in palladium casting.

The research will use palladium alloys from Legor and Johnson Matthey on loan from the Stillwater Mining Co., the sole sponsor of the PAI.

The initial phase of research will conclude next month, and the PAI will publish the results.
