Zirconmania launches diamond-coated CZ

Los Angeles--Zirconmania, a Los Angeles-based company that specializes in cubic zirconia (CZ) jewelry, has launched a line of specially coated CZ, the company announced in a press release.

According to the release, in November, Zirconmania introduced the Diamond-Veneer collection of CZ, which is coated with a thin-film nanocrystalline diamond-coating treatment.

Diamond-Veneer is being presented as a margin-making alternative to diamonds, which are "unaffordable and out of reach in this economy," to moissanite, which is "highly expensive and less attractive due to its color and basic appearance," and to CZ, which "looks too perfect," according to the release.

A patent is pending on the nanocrystalline diamond-coating process, which is intended to improve the optical and physical properties of CZ.

According to the release, Diamond-Veneer is created by employing a multi-step treatment process involving the application of nanocrystalline diamond particles that are less than 50 nm in size on all cut surfaces of premium-grade white Zirconite CZ. Each nanocrystalline diamond particle is said to be pure diamond, possessing all of the stone's optical and physical properties, according to the release.

"It is virtually impossible to visually identify Diamond-Veneer as anything but a diamond," the release states. "The only way to positively identify Diamond-Veneer is by its weight, hardness and chemical component. The index of refraction and dispersion of cubic zirconia get modified as a result of the nanocrystalline diamond-coating treatment."

Zirconite is a high-intensity, super-cut CZ that's designed, handcrafted and sold exclusively through Zirconmania worldwide, the release states.

Founded in 1986, Zirconmania has it main showroom in Los Angeles at the California Market Center. The company also has a showroom in New York and has been exhibiting at Accessories: The Show in New York and in Las Vegas for the last 15 years.
