JCOC to launch new design tool
May 09, 2008
Paso Robles, Calif.—The
Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC) is launching a new, Web-based software program that will test jewelry designs and concepts with consumers before the pieces are made into samples, potentially saving designers and manufactures money, time and labor, according to MVI Marketing, parent company of the JCOC.
The platform, called the "Desktop Product Assessment Program" (DPAP), will debut at the JCK Las Vegas show.
Through the DPAP, designers and manufacturers will have the opportunity to pinpoint their target consumer market right at their own desktops and discern consumer preferences within minutes.
"For manufacturers and designers currently producing any regular quantity of styles in a year, JCOC's DPAP will eliminate the guesswork of selecting which designs to make into live samples, thereby saving thousands of dollars and man hours because the testing can be done using CAD/CAM images," MVI Marketing President Liz Chatelain said in a media release.
In addition, there are potential significant profits to be had, according to MVI, from increased sell-through of styles preferred by consumers, as well as reduced returns and exchanges from retail and wholesale clients.
MVI has set preliminary prices for the JCOC's DPAP services at $50 per style.
The DPAP will be available for preview, by appointment only, at JCK Las Vegas. Designers, manufacturers and retailers can schedule an appointment by visiting MVI's automated trade show calendar, available at
