Gold jewelry to rock Fashion Week runway

New York—Gold jewelry will be the highlight of at least one runway show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2007, which kicks off at Bryant Park in New York City this Friday.

The World Gold Council (WGC) has partnered with designer Tiffany Koury to sponsor and accessorize her Fall 2007 "Bombshell" fashion show to be held on Feb. 7.

Koury, named one of the "Top 10 Dress Designers to Watch" by the Donegar Group in 2006, finds inspiration in the cotillion culture of her youth and the glamour of Hollywood icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Marlene Dietrich. Koury names each of her dresses after a past or present Hollywood bombshell.

The WGC will provide gold jewelry from a multitude of designers and manufacturers for each look in the show, with product ranging from long link necklaces to one-of-a-kind designer cuffs and pendants.

The WGC, a commercially driven marketing organization, receives funding from the world's leading gold-mining companies.
