New York--Jewelry designer Scott Kay has announced the company will launch a flagship store, but unlike most such shops under a "flagship" banner, this one will not be opened to the public.

Visitors will gain access to the exclusive new "SK66" store, as it is being called, by invitation only.

"The environment will be a museum from every aspect of my love for the fine arts and jewelry," Scott Kay, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Scott Kay said in a media release.

Kay said in the release that the store's name was created from the initials of his name, birth-date month and day, and that at SK66, guests will experience a salon-type atmosphere featuring one-of-a-kind designs and historical items culled from throughout the world.

"SK66 will mirror a dedication to an atmosphere of beauty, fine art, culture and heritage," Kay said.

Invitees will include the brand's friends in the jewelry industry, theater and performing arts arenas, in sports and finance, and those who have a true appreciation of fine art, the company said.

SK66's launch date is targeted for September 2009. As of press time, a location had not been disclosed.
