Seattle--The HD Group, a U.K.-based jewelry design and distribution company, has named Simon Golub and Sons (SGS) as the North American distributor for Hot Diamonds USA, the popular line of sterling silver and diamond jewelry, the company announced this week.

Founded in 1922, Seattle-based SGS is one of the oldest companies in the jewelry industry and, through its 24-person professional sales force, has every state covered, according to a media release.

Senior Vice President of Sales Bob Hewett leads the SGS sales team, while Matt Carlozzi is president of the independent jewelry division and Tom Hart, former vice president of merchandising for Bailey Banks and Biddle, has been appointed the new vice president of distribution and marketing.

Earlier this month, the HD Group announced its decision to close its Hot Diamonds USA subsidiary.

Jonathan Crocker, head of group sales and global account development for HD Group, appointed SGS in an attempt to increase market penetration and brand development in North America, as the group looks to expand the Hot Diamonds portfolio.

"Hot Diamonds is synonymous with high-quality branded jewelry crafted from authentic materials, predominantly silver, all of which have the generosity of at least one white, brilliant-cut diamond," Crocker said in the release. "Our combination of these elements was an 'industry first'. I am excited that SGS will be working closely with the HD Group, using their many years of experience to penetrate the U.S. market."

Crocker said that the company would be unveiling the Hot Diamonds portfolios, which currently include Hot Diamonds and the launch of Hot Diamonds Black, at the upcoming Las Vegas jewelry shows.

According to the release, the Hot Diamonds Black brand will include some higher-priced pieces, including an 18-karat gold collection called Gaia.
