PGI presents 'Gone Platinum Awards'
July 16, 2007
New York—The Platinum Guild International (PGI USA) has awarded three Preferred Platinum Partner Program (4P) members with the "Gone Platinum Award" for their exceptional dedication to increase platinum awareness and desire. The Gone Platinum Awards honor a designer or manufacturer, a retailer and a sales associate in the 4P program. The Gone Platinum Award for outstanding achievement by a manufacturer was awarded to Martin Flyer in New York, which has been designing fine diamond jewelry for nearly 60 years and has become a leader in platinum jewelry, focusing on timeless, classic styles. The Gone Platinum Award for outstanding achievement by a retailer for their exceptional platinum sales was awarded to M. J. Christensen Diamond Center in Las Vegas. Founded in 1939, M.J. Christensen is committed to honesty, integrity, quality of merchandise and excellence in customer service. The Gone Platinum Award for outstanding platinum sales will be awarded this month to Mervis Diamond Importers Sales Associate Diane Giles. Giles has been a sales associate at Mervis Diamond Importers in Washington, D.C., for four years and has 10 years of platinum experience in the industry. "It's an honor to award our 4P partners for their outstanding work to increase platinum awareness and desire among consumers over the past year," PGI USA President Huw Daniel said in a statement. "These efforts have helped turn the desire for platinum into bottom line sales and have increased dollar profits for both the retailers and manufacturers." The 4P program, a strategic trade program designed by PGI USA, provides targeted support to all levels of the supply chain while increasing consumer desire and driving consumers to platinum retailers. The Gone Platinum Award recipients are determined by a "Platinum Panel" from a group of nominees: Designers and manufacturers are nominated by retailers, retailers are nominated by designers and manufacturers, and sales associates are nominated by retailers who submit a brief essay about how their bridal sales have "Gone Platinum."
