Town and Country Awards honor international designers

Las Vegas—The eight designers recognized at the Town and Country Awards held during the Couture show at the Wynn Las Vegas on Friday night hailed from countries around the globe.

The winners and their specific categories are: bridal, Shaun Leane, London; diamonds, La Reina Collection, Los Angeles; gemstones, Sevan, Turkey; gold, Erich Zimmerman, Germany; haute couture, Yossi Harari, Calif.; pearl, Yvel, Israel; platinum, Steven Kretchmer, New York; and silver, John Hardy, Bali.

This year's awards ceremony included cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a poolside fashion show featuring the contest's entries and 135 dresses by designer Carmen Marc Valvo.

More than 1,000 members of the jewelry industry's top tier attended the 13th annual awards ceremony, which was sponsored by the Couture show, Town and Country and Neiman Marcus. Town and Country publisher Jim Taylor hosted the event, which serves as the centerpiece of the Couture show.
