Faberge brand changes ownership
June 15, 2007
Pforzheim, Germany—A consortium led by London-based Pallinghurst Resources has acquired the Faberge brand from Unilever. Faberge and all associated trademarks, licenses and intellectual property are now being held by a new and dedicated company, Faberge Limited.
Once the fabled court jeweler to the czars, Faberge is as famous for its exquisite jewels as it is for its legendary egg creations, regarded as masterpieces of the jeweler's art.
Under the leadership of its new owners, Faberge says it will continue to use only carefully selected gemstones of the highest quality and will seek to build upon its position as a leading luxury goods brand.
Faberge Limited has restructured certain aspects of its license portfolio, and the company says that both Victor Mayer GmbH and Co. KG, manufacturer of Faberge jewelry and objects of art, and Mohr Time GmbH, manufacturer of Faberge watches, will continue their license agreements with Faberge.
In a statement, the company said international demand for Faberge products has increased substantially, as demonstrated by the doubling of orders for Victor Mayer and Mohr Time products during this year's Baselworld fair in Switzerland.
