MJSA Expo to offer bevy of new tech options

Providence, R.I.—The latest in innovative technologies—from stone-setting advances to laser welding systems—will debut at this year's MJSA Expo New York, to be held March 18-20, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

This year's sampling includes: Unilock, a product from Stone Set Technologies LLC, that creates its own press fit action and allows the setting of any round stone over precious and non-precious metals as well as non-metal items; Foredom Electric's Kit 1050 Brushless Micrometer, which can be used for stone setting, bright cutting, polishing and more; and RightClick Web site Creator, a user-friendly program from Wise Choice Software that can help jewelers build their Web sites more easily.

For the creation of jewelry molds, options include Romanoff International Supply Corp.'s Solidscape T66 Bench Top CAD/CAM and Yasui Auto Clamp Injector, as well as Castaldo's Rapido Silicone Jewelry Molding Rubber.

Featured lighting choices include the Gem-E-Box and Power LED Light, both from MK Digital Direct. The former offers three types of lighting: fluorescent, for white backgrounds and natural reproduction of colors; halogen, for colored stones; and LED, for bringing out the sparkle in diamonds.

The expo will also feature a number of laser options, ranging from compact and micro-laser styles to full-on welding workstations from Romanoff, B&D Sales Corp., Crafford-LaserStar Technologies and Zahntech Advanced Technologies.
