New York--Five jewels created by secretive, revered designer JAR - two brooches and three pairs of ear clips - are the highlights of the next Christie's jewelry auction, scheduled for April 22 in New York.

According to a press release from the auction house, the JAR jewels include a sapphire, diamond, violet sapphire and pearl brooch with a 52.57-carat cushion-cut sapphire as the center stone, estimated to fetch between $150,000-$200,000.

The other brooch - an emerald, chalcedony, diamond and pink sapphire piece with a 103.28-carat oval cabochon emerald - is estimated to bring in $60,000-$80,000, according to the release.

The ear clips offered include a diamond and black diamond hedgehog pair expected to garner $20,000-$30,000; an emerald and diamond pair expected to fetch $20,000-$30,000 and a chalcedony, diamond and sapphire pair, which should bring in $25,000-$35,000.

In addition to the JAR Jewels, "Jewels: the New York Sale" also includes an Internally Flawless, 30.02-carat, D color, pear-shaped diamond ring set with an intense pink diamond band.

According to the release, an estimate on the ring's value is available only upon request.

A 19.13-carat fancy grayish-yellowish green "chameleon" briolette-cut diamond pendant necklace also will go on the auction block and is estimated to fetch $800,000-$1.2 million.

According to the press release, the color of this diamond changes temporarily when gently heated or when left in the dark for a period of time, thereby earning it the name "chameleon."

This 19-carat stone is the largest briolette-cut chameleon diamond in the world to be offered at auction, according to Christie's.
