Luxury jeweler to bring bling

Van Cleef and Arpels may be opening a new store in Atlanta. A spokesperson for the luxury jeweler said the company is assessing the opportunity and evaluating options in the market.

David Birnbrey, co-CEO of The Shopping Center Group LLC, said the decision validates Atlanta as a city with a great deal of disposable income and fashion sense.

It has been speculated that The Streets of Buckhead, a new $1.2 billion development, could be the location for the jeweler's Atlanta store, which would raise the French jeweler's U.S. store count to 11. Hermes, AG Adriano Goldschmeid, Etro, Bottega Veneta and Domenico Vacca are among the luxury retailers planning to occupy space at The Streets of Buckhead. Van Cleef and Arpels' sister store, Cartier, is located at Lenox Square in Atlanta.
