Gold prices reach record 28-year high

London—Gold's spot price in London increased to more than $730 per ounce today, breaking a 28-year high, while the
U.S. dollar sunk to an all-time low against the euro, reported the
Financial Times.
Earlier, gold prices in the COMEX, the leading U.S. exchange for metals futures and options trading, reached a 28-year high of $738.30 per ounce, according to the news source.
In addition, the
Financial Times reported that gold is trading roughly $120 below the $850 price per ounce it reached back in January 1980.
