Sarah Ho designs piece for Swarovski's Runway Rocks

London—Sarah Ho, founder of SHO Fine Jewellery, has been commissioned to design a piece for Swarovski's Runway Rocks collection and Past Forward event, which will travel to Beijing, Moscow and Mumbai, India.

Runway Rocks is a collection of conceptual, barrier-breaking catwalk jewels that are commissioned by Swarovski from leading designers. The event has traveled to fashion capitals of the world, including Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Tokyo.

Ho said her cape and headpiece are inspired by her childhood love of origami.

"The design features square origami parcels from which a single crystal Tahitian pearl appears interlinking with Swarovski crystals, creating a dramatic look with geometric lines inspired by the glamour of Art Deco and the tradition of the orient," she said.

The cape was influenced by the Paco Rabanne era of the swinging '60s where alternative metals were used to achieve a futuristic look. The headpiece also embodies the futuristic theme, but is more influenced by the Art Deco era.
