Estate, bankruptcy jewelry auction Sept. 16

September 09, 2009

New York--Three separate estates of rare fancy-color diamonds, colorless diamonds, diamond jewelry and colored-stone jewelry will be auctioned off next week in New York's Diamond District.

The auction, being conducted by the Gemological Appraisal Association Inc., part of the Palmieri Group, is set for Sept. 16 in the penthouse (34th floor) of 580 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan.

Don Palmieri, head of the Palmieri Group, is the court-appointed broker for the Treasure Trove (a rare collection of fancy-color diamond rings), appointed broker for the estate of jeweler Howard W. Klein and the court-appointed liquidating trustee for Alison Gem Corp.

He will be auctioning all the lots in three sessions.

"Regardless of what type of estate these diamonds and jewels come from, there is something for every type of jewelry business and collector," Palmieri said in a media release.

The first session will include five fancy-color diamond rings from the armchair treasure hunt spelled out in Michael Stadther's New York Times bestseller, Secrets of the Alchemist Dar.

The second session includes loose diamonds and diamond and gemstone jewelry from Klein's estate.

The final session includes loose diamonds and diamond jewelry from the liquidation of Alison Gem Corp.

Prior to the auction, at 9:00 a.m., Scarselli Diamonds principal Bruno Scarselli, along with the Natural Color Diamond Association, will give a presentation on the appreciation of fancy-color diamonds.

All lots can be viewed at Gemtips.com, or by calling Don or Angelo Palmieri at (212) 869-972 to schedule a viewing.

The bid submission and registration form can be accessed here.
