Mumbai,
India—Retailers and key sponsors are signing up for the Indo-U.S. Jewelry Business Development Conference for the top North American retailers, scheduled to take place from Oct. 1-5 at the Marriott Renaissance in Mumbai.
The event, organized by the
Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC) in conjunction with Connecticut-based R and B Partners LLP, has signed on key sponsors including Fine Jewellery, Inter-Jewels, Jewelex, K.P. Sanghvi, Mohit Diamonds, Shrenuj and Suashish.
The program will connect these India-based companies with the top U.S. and Canadian senior business-development executives and directors of merchandise in the jewelry industry. Retailers invited to the all-expense-paid conference have been culled from
National Jeweler's annual "$100 Million Supersellers" and "Top 50" lists.
In addition, fine guild independent stores that have the interest and ability to source from India have also been invited.
"Our goal is to host 15 to 20 of the "best of the best" North American retail companies at this inaugural event to ensure a quality experience for both the retailers and the sponsors," said Bakul Mehta, convener of GJEPC's diamond panel, in a statement. "While most of those invited fall into the category of the majors, we have also reached out to several notable high-end independents that can benefit from this unique event."
