GemFind launches consumer Web site
February 05, 2008
Tustin, Calif.—GemFind, owner of business-to-business wholesale-jewelry Web site
Gemfind.net, is entering into the consumer realm.
On Tuesday, the company announced the launch of a new business-to-consumer Web site, accessible at
Gemfind.com, where shoppers will be able to search for and purchase diamonds and jewelry directly from local stores.
"It can be difficult and stressful to buy diamonds and jewelry based on pictures and dimensions alone," company representative Alex Fetanat said in a media release. "GemFind.com differentiates itself from e-business sites such as Blue Nile because customers can visit a local store selling the jewelry to try it on and help them make a more informed buying decision. They also have the option of buying that piece of jewelry online or at the local retail location."
The new Web site also gives GemFind Network members—who are registered and industry-only diamond sellers and buyers—the chance to showcase and sell their merchandise directly to consumers.
In addition to showcasing jewelry online, GemFind provides a comprehensive list of professional services and e-business tools, including an online wholesale-diamond-appraisal tool.
GemFind also offers members access to their worldwide diamond database, which includes listings for more than 50,000 diamonds.
"We are committed to finding and developing technologically advanced ways to connect the wholesale and retail jewelry industry with the global marketplace," Fetanat said.
