New York—The JA New York Winter Show, held last week at the
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, has kicked off a successful start to spring buying, show organizers said.
The March 9-11 show offered something for everyone, with an array of designs from around the world, JA's educational program and numerous networking opportunities, including the National Jeweler Network Lounge.
"In a challenging marketplace, the JA New York Winter Show continues to draw a great crowd," JA New York Group Show Director Drew Lawsky said in a statement. "With the spring buying season just around the corner, the energy on the show floor was palpable. We're thrilled with the enthusiastic response from exhibitors and attendees."
Among the highlights of this year's winter show were the stylish Inner Circle pavilion; the ever-popular Couture Pavilion; the largest Designer Showcase the show has seen to date, with more than 15 designers debuting their collections; and the new Manufacturing, Equipment Services and Technology Pavilion and new Gift Gallery, featuring such gift merchandise as tabletop, home accessories and handmade items.
This year, JA New York acknowledged three designers with Golden Apple Awards for excellence in marketing and publicity campaigns: Starhaven by Liz Donahue won the Sparkle Award for an appealing and well-planned marketing campaign; KC Designs won the Fusion Award for its strategic, multi-faceted approach to business; and Nelson Jewelry USA/Calla Cut Diamonds received the Golden Apple Award for Innovation, in recognition of the company's impressive media presence.
The JA New York Summer Show will be held from July 27-30 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. For more information, visit JA New York's Web site,
