Jewelry industry marketer Fruchtman Marketing has won a Silver Addy Award for its television campaign for Bremer Jewelry, which features the animated character "Ernest J," shown here.

Toledo, Ohio--Fruchtman Marketing, a full-service advertising agency that specializes in marketing for the fine-jewelry industry, has taken home a Silver Addy Award in the Advertising Club of Toledo's annual Addy Awards Competition.

The Advertising Club of Toledo presented the award to Fruchtman Marketing on Feb. 26, recognizing the agency for an advertising campaign it created for Illinois-based Bremer Jewelry, with stores in both Bloomington and Peoria.

The television campaign features an animated character, "Ernest J," based on the store's founder, Ernest J. Bremer. Both the character and the series of commercials are intended to honor the history of Bremer Jewelry while also appealing to the next generation of fine-jewelry buyers.

Topics in the series include designer jewelry, Bremer's atmosphere and the guest services available at the retail stores.

"We had an opportunity to create something for Bremer as unique as their position in the marketplace," Fruchtman Marketing President Ellen Fruchtman said in a media release. "It's certainly exciting to win the award. However, we're more excited that the ads have generated tremendous awareness for Bremer Jewelry."

Editor's Note: In addition to helming Fruchtman Marketing, Ellen Fruchtman is National Jeweler's "Your Store" marketing contributor.
