CIBJO Congress changes venue, updates Web site

Milan, Italy--CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, has changed the venue of its 2009 Congress from the Ciragan Palace Kempinski to the Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, so that a greater number of participants can attend.

"In light of the current economic situation, we decided it would be prudent to choose a facility that is more affordable to a greater number of members," CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri said in a media release. "With that said, the Sheraton Istanbul Atakoy is a well located, beautiful new hotel with excellent conference facilities."

In anticipation of the 2009 Congress, which will run from May 3-5, CIBJO has also launched an upgraded version of its primary Web site, CIBJO.org.

As part of the upgrade, the site's home page has been fully revamped, with sections added for breaking news from CIBJO and comments from individuals associated with CIBJO affiliated organizations.

There's also a prominent link to the dedicated 2009 CIBJO Congress Web site, where participants are able to register and book hotel rooms for the event.
