Actress and jewelry designer Jane Seymour will give the keynote address at the Women's Jewelry Association's "Women in the Know" conference in March.

New York--Actress-turned-jewelry designer Jane Seymour is slated to deliver the keynote address at the Women's Jewelry Association's (WJA) 6th annual "Women in the Know" (WITK) conference.

The conference is slated for March 6 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

Seymour, who garnered a Golden Globe for her role as Dr. Michaela Quinn in the 1990s television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, recently created a line of jewelry for Sterling Jewelers Inc. called "Open Hearts by Jane Seymour."

Seymour's line is sold exclusively at Kay Jewelers and Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry and, according to the release, was inspired by Seymour's original "Healing Hearts" watercolor and oil paintings.

"While we have had many great names at each of the WITK events, it is truly an honor to have someone of Jane Seymour's stature join us in March," said Fran Pennella, vice president of education for the WJA and director of public relations at David Yurman. "We are so happy to welcome Ms. Seymour to our industry and to this WITK event. She will be an inspiration to us all."

Other presentations scheduled for the WITK conference include sessions on strategies for weathering the economic storm, how to use research to improve your business, creating a sustainable career and the use of online social networks to boost business.

In addition, the women of The New York Times best-seller The Necklace: Thirteen Women and the Experiment That Transformed Their Lives, will give a presentation during lunch, which will be followed by the first-ever "Passion with Purpose" panel discussion featuring charitable women in the fashion and jewelry industries.

The event, sponsored by Sterling Jewelers Inc., Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co. and Platinum Guild International, is scheduled for 8:45 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and is open to all industry professionals.

"Early bird" pre-registration (registration prior to Feb. 27) is $200 for WJA members and $225 for non-members.

Registration is available online at WJA's Web site, WomensJewelryAssociation.com, or by calling WJA at (708) 361-6266.
