MJSA elects new chairman, directors

Providence, R.I.--Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America (MJSA) welcomed a new chairman and elected several new members to its board of directors at its 105th annual meeting on Dec. 8.

Richard Powers of Stern-Leach Co. moved up from first vice chairman to chairman, replacing Alan Bell of The Bell Group.

Joining Powers in new leadership positions are David Meleski of Richline Group as first vice chair, Edward DeCristofaro of LDC Inc. as second vice chair and Michael Toback of Myron Toback Inc. as secretary. Michael Salvadore Jr. of Salvadore Auctions and Appraisals Inc. remains treasurer.

Newly elected directors include Stuart Cathey of Stuart Cathey Jewelry, Timothy Dinneny of Bank of Nova Scotia and David Pillow of Zale Corp.

Re-elected to the board are Stuart Lee of Sterling Jewelers Inc. and Paul Nordt of J.C. Nordt Co. Inc.
