Man gets life sentence for jewelry store slayings

Grand Haven, Mich.--One of two brothers convicted in the July 2008 murders of a Michigan jewelry store owner and one of his customers was sentenced to life behind bars earlier this week.
 
The man sentenced in the case, according to police, was 39-year-old Dimitri Anderson.

According to the Grand Haven Tribune, Anderson received 999 years in prison for the shooting deaths of Robert Karell, owner of R.K. Jewelers in Grand Haven, and his customer, Louis Paparella.
 
Anderson and his brother, Darick Anderson, were both found guilty earlier this year of killing Karell and Paparella during a robbery at R.K. Jewelers, located in downtown Grand Haven, according to the Tribune.

Anderson's sentence also includes 37-56 years for the armed robbery of the jewelry store.

According to the Tribune, Darick Anderson is scheduled for sentencing on April 20.
