JA New York sets new dates for Winter Show

New York--JA New York and the National Jeweler Network have announced new dates for the 2010 JA New York Winter Show, now taking place from Feb. 28-March 2, 2010.

Organizers said in a media release that the new dates for the show, previously held in January, will provide ample time for retailers to assess post-holiday inventory and to more closely align with spring trends and events.

"The later 2010 show dates will provide the perfect time for exhibitors to introduce the latest trends, and for retailers, it provides optimal buying conditions for bridal season, graduation, Mother's Day and Father's Day," Group Show Director Drew Lawsky said in the release. "The response from our exhibitors and attendees about both the timing and our showcase offerings has been very enthusiastic. Our goal, as always, is to provide the most advantageous meeting place and timing for the industry to conduct business--the JA New York Winter Show will be able to fulfill that goal."

Organizers said they have worked closely with other industry trade events to find a date solution that best meets the needs of respective exhibitor and buyer audiences.

Carol Young, executive director of the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association, said in the release that the Atlanta Jewelry Show was moved up a week to avoid a date conflict, and thus vendors who traditionally participate in both shows will not have to worry about splitting samples or missing customers at either show.

JA New York organizers said they expect more than 8,000 retailers to be in attendance and more than 800 exhibitors to showcase their offerings at the 2010 Winter Show.

Highlights include the renowned Couture Pavilion, the Designer Showcase, the Inner Circle and International Pavilions, with participants in the latter area to include exhibitors from Italy, Thailand, Hong Kong, Brazil, Japan, Mexico and more.

In addition to buying opportunities, the show will also feature Jewelers of America educational seminars and networking opportunities, including the America's Best Jeweler forum, a peer-to-peer program that will give retailers access to metrics and key business practices.
